Finnish work and design play a significant role in Sako’s rifle design process and production.
Sako and Tikka rifles have been awarded the right to use the Key Flag symbol from 2009 and Design from Finland symbol from 2018.
For us at Sako, the Design from Finland and Key Flag symbols represent Finnish uncompromised quality. Finnishness is a value in itself for us, and we are a deeply Finnish company based on our history and circumstances and drawing on Finnish natural conditions.

The Key Flag Symbol in a nutshell
Sako and Tikka rifles have been awarded The Key Flag symbol mark since 2009.
The Key Flag is a sign of Finnish work. The symbol can be awarded to a product that has been made in Finland. In addition, the right to use the Key Flag Symbol can be awarded to products with a minimum domestic content of 50 per cent of its break-even cost. The calculation takes into consideration all costs related to the product.
The Key Flag symbol is very well-known in Finland. According to an Association for Finnish Work study, practically all Finnish consumers and business executives recognise the Key Flag symbol. The majority of Finns (75%) also state that the Key Flag symbol has a positive impact on their purchasing decisions. Approximately half of the Finnish population associate the symbol with responsibility.
The Design from Finland Symbol in a nutshell
Sako and Tikka rifles have been awarded the Design from Finland mark since 2018.
The Design from Finland mark of the Association for Finnish Work can be awarded to a product, product group or service that strongly represents Finnish design competence. The mark indicates that the company has invested in professional design and achieved business advantages through design. Products and services bearing the Design from Finland mark have been designed in Finland in a professional, responsible and user-oriented manner. These companies are transparent about their products and services’ production chain and country of origin.
