Balance, lightness and weatherproofing – for those who demand perfection

How do we manufacture Carbon Fibre barrels?

SAKO carbon fibre barrels are manufactured with unique layering technology. The SAKO carbon layup process relies on a specific moulding tool for the barrel contour that guarantees a high tolerance, multi-layered and precise carbon filament structure. With this method the interface between carbon and steel works perfectly together guaranteeing the ultimate accuracy that our steel barrels are known for. Using dry fibres inside the mould and placing them in vacuum SAKO technology guarantees a homogenous structure throughout multiple carbon layers. This enables extremely stiff structure and thus reduced barrel vibration.

A carbon fibre barrel made for accuracy

Replacing much of the thickness of the steel barrel with a carbon fibre construction lowers its weight considerably. The balance point of the rifle can be optimized by lowering the weight throughout the length of the barrel. Having the centre of gravity in the mid-part of the rifle improves aiming and handling.
