THE STATE-OF-THE-ART FIRING MECHANISM

The SAKO 90 Firing mechanism works hand in hand with other components to achieve the best accuracy from the whole rifle platform.

Crisp and clean trigger pull

The SAKO 90 firing mechanism has been designed to have world-leading lock time, under 1.3msec. Lock time is the time interval between sear release and the firing pin striking the primer and igniting it. The faster the lock time the less time the barrel has to move relative to the target, thus increasing accuracy. Another factor that ensures the accuracy of the SAKO 90 trigger unit is the trigger mechanism components being manufactured with extremely high tolerance. The result is a very clean and crisp trigger operation that is often compared to the sensation of ‘breaking glass’.

For a better accuracy

The SAKO 90 Firing mechanism works hand in hand with other components to achieve the best accuracy from the whole rifle platform. Our trigger offers zero creep, meaning there is no perceptible scraping between the sears prior to release. This is all achieved with cutting-edge manufacturing methods that ensure the dimensional accuracy of the parts and high surface quality of the sear parts.

Advanced safety system

The SAKO 90 safety solution is designed so that both the trigger and the bolt handle are locked when safety is engaged, but at the same time the firing pin is also physically blocked. This ensures that the firing pin cannot move forward in the case of a malfunction igniting the primer.
